Our Shoal is March-ing On!

March-ing On!

Is it just us, or does it seem like yesterday we were celebrating Fishmas? It’s been a busy start to March for everyone at Firefish; there’s been a lot more in person events, a little bug bashing, and we’ve even been featured in a national news article. Let’s dive into what’s been happening!

Did Someone Say Food?

Since the start of the pandemic, we’ve added nearly 20 new fishes to the shoal, which is fin-ominal! With so many new fishy faces floating around the shoal, we decided it was high time to get the everyone together in their teams for some lovely lunch, organised by Amy. It has been fin-credible to see everyone together, and we won’t lie, and in person rather than through a screen! It’s safe to say we have a penchant for peri-peri chicken in the office, but who can blame us?

Lights, Camera, Swim!

Our very own David Connelly was front and centre for a fin-tastic BBC News article earlier this month! With everything going on in the world, employees and employers alike are aware of inflation and the costs of living rising. Our Chief Fish Wendy and Board of Directors went one better by giving the Shoal a permanent pay increase to help ease the pressure. The whole shoal was fin-credibly grateful, with the move coming at a time of concern for a few of our fishes. The gesture got some attention nationally, with David being interviewed for a BBC article, so thank you Wendy, and the Board, from the whole Shoal!

Bug Bash Bonanza

We love a little technical challenge here at Firefish so what better way to get the shoal involved then holding our first inaugural Bug Bash?

It was bashingly brilliant afternoon, with lots of laughter and few confused faces from our less techy fishes! Massive thanks to Jon for setting up and running the even; it was such a fun afternoon!

Congratulations to Vicky, who was crowned Best Tester for the day, and she found the Best Bug – well done! Tony took home the prize for Best Bug Report, and along with Vicky, Richard and Paul, helped to secure the best team prize – congratulations everyone!
