Firefish is a fast-growing, established technology start-up and we are searching for a Junior UI/UX Developer to join our growing team.  You’ll focus on feature enhancements to further increase our users’ experience of Firefish as part of our highly respected Front End team.

You’re going to love this job if:

  • You like working in an agile team where you’re responsible for setting your own workload, and are looking for a role where you can be involved in the full lifecycle from requirements analysis to design, development, support and implementation.
  • You’re passionate about good UI and UX, and keep users’ needs in mind at all times so that we develop a product that is beautiful to use and makes our customers jump up and down with excitement!
  • Communication is key to you, and you enjoy working with test teams and product managers to capture user stories, allowing you to come up with clever UI solutions to users’ challenges while also communicating accurate delivery timescales to the business.

We have a brilliant team to consistently learn from and with whom you can push the parameters of what’s possible. Looking at user journeys, building out visual design and prototypes, and production of well structured, efficient, stable and secure code are just some of what you’ll be getting your hands dirty with.

To apply you’ll have a passion for good UI and UX and at least 18 months’ development experience (not necessarily in a commercial environment).  You have a solid understanding of JavaScript (particularly JQuery) CSS, HTML; a good knowledge of design concepts, layouts and current web trends; and exposure to ASP.NET using C#.   You’ll ideally have a BSc (Hons) in Web Design, Computer Science, or another related subject, and you’ll have experience of Agile methodologies (particularly those supporting object oriented analysis and design such as UML).

In return, we offer a range of benefits including flexi finish time, a relaxed working environment, monthly team lunches and an early finish on Fridays.

We’re well established having grown 60% organically year-on-year, and we’re fully funded and ready to rock. Your workload is in your own hands, not dictated to you, and you are not seen as just another ‘cog in the machine’.

So, if you want to be part of something ground-breaking, something different…join us!
