Fishy Finalists

We love getting glammed up, and there’s no better excuse for a fancy frock than being nominated for an award!

On Thursday, 5th October some of the shoal swam off to enjoy an evening of glitz and glamour at the Glasgow Business Awards, which were held at the Hilton Glasgow Hotel.

Making sure our Fish friends are swimming to success is of vital importance to us all, so much so that we have an entire team dedicated to customer happiness.  We think about our customers’ success in everything we do, so we were delighted to be finalists in the category of Excellence in Customer Service. 

Stepping into the Grand Ballroom to the upbeat tunes from the brilliant band, Splendid Gentlemen, did nothing to ease our excitement.  The room looked stunning, and it was clear that a huge amount of effort had gone into the planning. The top table were both piped and drummed in, in a fantastic collaboration of musical styles, and after the opening speeches X Factor hopeful Gregor Coleman provided the entertainment during the outstanding dinner.  Next, Fred MacAulay took to the stage and the awards got under way. 

We were up against some very stiff competition, namely AC Whyte & Co; Enterprise Rent-A-Car; Excel Vending; Glasgow Credit Union; and Spectrum Service Solutions.  With every winner that was announced we crept closer to the edge of our seats until it was our turn: the winner of the award for Excellence in Customer Service was…AC Whyte & Co.

We all agreed that they were very worthy winners and although this wasn’t our year, we’re delighted to have been recognised amongst such well respected companies.  Congratulations, AC Whyte & Co!

It was fantastic to be part of an event which celebrates local success. We’d like to say a huge thank you to Glasgow Chamber of Commerce and the Hilton Glasgow Hotel for a really wonderful evening, and massive congratulations to all the finalists and winners.

To top it off, we arrived at the Aquarium the next morning to the wonderful news that we have also reached the national finals for the Service Excellence award at the SME Business Awards, which are held in London in December. 

So…next stop Wembley!
