Front End Web Designer

£28,000 - £34,000 + pension, healthcare, retail cashback and much more!

Firefish Software is a multi award-winning SaaS company that’s taking the recruitment software market by storm!  We have a brand new position available for a Front End Web Designer/Developer to join the shoal in Glasgow, supporting our marketing team with our web and branding, and focusing on our user interface (UI) design and development of our product.

You’ll be responsible for all things web and branding, including design, monitoring, SEO audits and UI/UX.  You’ll look at our customer journeys on our website, navigation, graphical layout and user interactions to understand and assess our users’ needs and how they use our product.  Once you’ve gathered this information, you’ll come up with clever UI solutions before creating wireframes and translating technical requirements so that the developers have clarity on what’s needed and can get the work scheduled in.  You’ll then communicate effectively with our UAT team to ensure each new feature released into production will get our customers jumping up and down with excitement when they get their hands on it!

In addition, you’ll keep an eye on everything to do with our brand to make sure we don’t get carried away!  We like to have fun with the Fish, and you’ll own the brand and brand architecture taking ideas and translating these to web, PowerPoint and brochure.

We’d love to hear from you if you have:

  • Top notch experience with the Adobe Creative Suite, Adobe XD, Photoshop, Illustrator and Sketch
  • A minimum of 18 months’ web design/development experience (not necessarily in a commercial environment)
  • BSc (Hons) in Web Design, Computer Science, or a related subject (or comparable professional experience)
  • A passion for good UI & UX, HTML, SCSS, JavaScript/Angular.JS and Web Architecture
  • Good knowledge of design concepts, layouts and current web trends

It’d be great if you also have familiarity with some form of ASP.Net and experience of Agile methodologies, particularly those supporting object-oriented analysis and design (such as UML)…but don’t worry if you don’t have these!

This role is ideal for you if you’re really creative but want to get more technical – we’ll support you fully in building your skills if you’re keen to learn!  You love solving challenges through nicely structured design, and using tools such ass Hotjar to track journeys through websites.

We’re well established, having grown 60% organically year-on-year, and are fully funded and ready to rock. Your workload is in your own hands - not dictated to you - and you’re not seen as just another ‘cog in the machine’.

So, if you want to be part of something ground-breaking, something different…join us!

Vicki will be in touch as soon as she’s reviewed your application.
